We’ve spent many Easters in Greece where they celebrate big time. One of the big traditions is to paint the Eggs red. On Easter Sunday the idea is to find who has the strongest egg by smashing each others egg on the ends. Great fun and then of course the loser has to eat it!
Hiding the eggs requires a bit of thought – make sure your egg hunt is the right level of difficulty for your kids’ age group. Older kids will get bored if it’s too easy and younger kids might get frustrated if it’s too hard. If you have a mix of ages, then why not divide the garden into zones? Or perhaps add inflated balloons to the eggs so they’re easier for little ones to find? Our apple crates would certainly hold larger eggs and their balloons. Keep things safe by setting clear boundaries – no climbing onto fences or shed roofs for example.
