Our range of old vintage crates includes some beautiful original English Crates, which are all still in good condition after a long working life. Vintage and original, these old wooden crates are sourced from farms across the country and help keep a piece of our local history alive.
We are always on the lookout for old vintage crates, visiting farms and antiques fairs to find the best quality old wooden crates we can. The old Apple Crates, or Bushels as they were called, usually have the name of the farm on the sides. On the ends they sometimes even have the old deposit markings. Some of these old wooden crates date back to before February 1971, bearing pre-decimal markings.
When looking for old Potato Crates or ‘Chitting Trays’, we always try to get ones with original farm markings on them. These old vintage crates are wonderful nostalgic reminders of the past.
